Started in Kochi. Woven in Alleppey.
The mat that came with your car cost the factory nothing. It smells of rubber, traps grit, and starts peeling within a year.
We thought that was a bad trade for a car you actually care about.
Sisal isn't new to the automotive world — it's what floored classic Porsches and Europe's finest luxury cars, long before cost-cutting replaced it with synthetic carpet. It was chosen because nothing else drapes as cleanly, wears as gracefully, or ages with as much character.
We brought it back.
Nerova mats are handwoven in Alleppey, Kerala, by NC John & Sons — a family of master weavers carrying an 80-year unbroken legacy in the craft. The raw sisal fibre comes from Tanzania, the same source prized by European coachbuilders for generations. Every mat is cut to your car's exact specifications and woven only after you order — nothing sits in a warehouse, nothing is mass-produced to "fit most models."
One material. One standard. Made for your car, not just any car.
The material
Sisal is the natural fibre that lined Porsche and Rolls-Royce cabins through most of the twentieth century — before rubber became the shortcut. It traps dust on contact, is naturally odourless, and holds its structure for years without matting down or cracking.
We source it raw from Tanzania. No synthetic blend. No rubber coating. Just the fibre, woven by hand in Alleppey.
The weavers
NC John & Sons have been weaving in Alleppey, Kerala since the 1940s. They made floor mats for India’s first cars — Ambassadors, Fiats, early models that families still talk about. Every Nerova mat comes off their traditional handlooms.
The weave has natural variation — density, character, warmth — that no injection-moulded product can replicate. This is what handmade actually means.
Made for your car
We hold interior measurements for 400+ models sold in India. When you order, we confirm your exact make, model, year, and variant before we weave a single thread.
If the mat arrives and doesn’t fit perfectly, we remake it at no charge. No questions, no forms to fill in. That’s not a policy we added as an afterthought — it’s the whole point.
The standard
Nerova started in Alleppey, Kerala with a straightforward premise: if you spend lakhs on a car, the details inside it matter. The floor under your feet shouldn’t be a rubber tray stamped out of a mould. It should be made — properly, for your car, by hand.
We make one product. We’re not trying to be everything. We’re trying to make the best car mat available in India.
